ACGG Crop Physiology Workshop

20 participants from JLU took part in a Crop Physiology Workshop run by Prof. Andrew Borrell (University of Queensland) at JLU Giessen in July 2024. Another 15 external PhD students and postdocs from HGU and JKI participated online. In four intensive sessions spread over two days, Prof. Borrell provided the participants with deep insight into crop physiological concepts related to Food security, plant phenology, key traits contributing to crop growth, nutrient/water dynamics and grain yield potential, and how crop modelling can help to understand and genotype x environment x management interactions (G*E*M) and leverage genetic diversity for global crop improvement.
