Babette Knoblauch wins award at IAPB international congress

In July 2026, IRTG PhD student Babette Knoblauch, accompanied by colleagues Dr. Sruthy Augustine and Dr. Amitha Paul, attended the 2026 IAPB International Congress in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. The congress provided a prestigious platform for the latest scientific breakthroughs, focusing on novel breeding technologies, genome editing, tissue culture, and plant transformation.

The event underscored the critical role of biotechnology in addressing urgent global challenges, such as climate change, biodiversity conservation, and food and nutritional security, in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. By bringing together researchers, educators, and industry professionals, the congress facilitated vital knowledge exchange and helped shape the future directions of plant science and sustainable agriculture.
