IRTG joins Girls’ Day 2026 – Women in power
On April 23rd, a new cohort of young female scientists arrived straight from school at our field station in Rauischholzhausen, as well as our greenhouse and lab here in Gießen. Our young (though not quite as young as the students) PhD candidates organized the Girls’ Day. Girls’ Day is an annual event where school students can explore careers that are traditionally male-dominated (with less than 40% female representation). Workshops by Christine Diepenbrock, UC Davis
In March 2026, Associate Professor Christine DIepenbrock from the University of California in Davis, USA visited JLU for one week to lead workshops and discuss with IRTG students about approaches and methods for quantitative genetics, predictive breeding and G*E*M analysis. Recent PhD graduates at JLU
